If you do any kind of coding in R, you are (or should be!) aware of the importance of version control and backing up data. One great resource for that is GitHub. In addition to assisting with documenting changes in different versions of your files and backing them up in a remote folder, you can easily share code with collaborators.
Now, if you use RStudio and GitHub, and haven't synced them together, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND DO IT RIGHT NOW! Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but I suggest that you do it at your next convenience. Syncing them together is easy and crucial for any data management plan (a requirement for many NSF grant proposals). Some great instructions have been provided by pjnewcombe. Committing changes, and pushing and pulling documents between remote and local folders, respectively, is incredibly fast and streamlined now that I have RStudio and GitHub talking nicely to each other!
