Today I participated in my first hack-a-thon! I worked with Brian O'Meara's lab to learn how to work with DNA sequence data in R, and address some of the challenges in analyzing genetic data. We contributed our code and documentation to a new GitHub repository called "sleq". Click here to check out all of the progress we've made so far.
GitHub is celebrating the use of open-source software during the month of October (hence the name: "Hacktober"), and is giving out free T-shirts to award ambitious coders. Join in on the fun!
